There’s a certain air of mystery about tabletop roleplaying games, as if they’re some sort of arcane art knowable only to those who possess unbounded imagination and mathematical prowess.

Thankfully it’s not actually difficult to start playing. And once you learn your first game, picking up other games is even easier. There’s also no need to worry about whether you’re playing the game “correctly” or not. At it the core it’s about having fun and the rules are just a vehicle for that. You can and should bend them to suit your needs.

While you can gather a group of friends together online to learn a tabletop RPG, in-person play is still the fastest, easiest way to learn.
